Your questions, answered
Since sharing my story, I’ve had people come to me asking for advice.
Let’s go through some of the questions that come up most, gathered from both my personal WhatsApp chats and our DMs over on TRB’s Instagram, with supporting guidance from MedExpress.
1. How did you know if a treatment was suitable for you?
I’ll be honest – at first, I wondered whether I’d even be eligible. I’d heard that these kinds of non-invasive weight loss options might not be suitable for those with certain health conditions, so I started out feeling a bit lost when it came to getting started.
I’m also naturally a bit of a worrier, something that usually feels amplified when postpartumand wanted to make sure that treatment would be safe for me.
Using a regulated service like MedExpress and accessing their expert consults helped me feel safe and informed about my options, dosage and planning, before hitting go.
MedExpress adds: Once you complete an online consultation, our clinical team reviews your health and confirms your eligibility. That way, you know it’s safe and appropriate for you.
2. What kind of results did you realistically expect, and what did you see?
My initial goal was to lose 30-40 pounds in total, and to get to a place where I felt happy with the Eloise I saw in the mirror, alongside that all-important improved energy and strength!
To help me get there, I started with steady changes I could maintain alongside treatment (more on this below).
I’ve seen consistent loss, higher energy and better eating habits along the way, but really, the most important result I’ve noticed is the change to my confidence levels.
MedExpress adds: Set small, realistic goals — not just around weight, but also around movement, sleep, and energy. Celebrate non-scale wins like better sleep or more energy. And remember, weight naturally fluctuates — it’s consistency that counts.
3. Were you worried about side effects, and how did you manage them?
Yes, definitely. There’s so much in the media about side effects right now, and it’s probably one of the most common questions I get!
I did experience some mild nausea and constipation at the start, which I realised were much improved by staying hydrated.
For me, following MedExpress’s guidance and making small adjustments to my dosage and water intake where I needed to kept me comfortable without slowing my progress.
MedExpress adds: It’s normal to notice mild side effects at first — your body is adjusting. They usually settle, and our clinical team is always here if you need reassurance.
